I have been the biggest Lana Del Rey fan for as long as I can remember. I am a huge music junkie and I’m always naturally inclined to independent artists which produce tunes with elements of rock, folk and soul in them. And ever since my high school days, Lana Del Rey’s soothing highs and lows had me hooked. From her unreleased and not so popular tracks to hits like ‘Born to Die’, her music is just like a psychedelic experience. It makes you experience a time that you’ve never lived in-from the sepia-induced videos of skater kids and clips of love amongst youngsters are perfect for taking you back to the 60s. This is the part that appealed most to my inner aesthetic and soul. Putting her demeanour aside, she is undoubtedly one of the most original in the music industry. Her vague yet truthful lyrics about the capitalistic society, love and sex heightens the entire mood of her hauntingly calm tunes. Here are some of her best lyrics, depicting the reality we live in:
